The Characters have been given command of a TXL-500 Caravan in which to scout out the various systems they are looking for. Although some of the ships that the other scouting groups were given are more heavily armed light freighters, the TXL-500 Caravan is a medium freighter and is more heavily armored than most. The TXL-500 Caravan medium freighter is not as maneuverable as alot of the light freighters, but the size of the ship and it's higher powered engines allow it to carry alot more cargo. The cargo bay is also slightly compartmentalized to allow some environmental control. Containers that are loaded into the cargo bay can plug into the environmental controls to allow for even greater environmental control. A typical TXL-500 Caravan is approximately 60 meters long and this particular vessel has been restructured slightly on the interior to allow for a science lab and several other useful things for a scouting mission.
