The ancient Vesdin Empire had existed for as long as anyone can remember. It had always been there, the neutral territory that others had always thought invulnerable. At least they thought it invulnerable until 10 years ago... Ten years ago was when all galactic communications from within the Vesdin Empire ceased. At first it was thought that the Vesdin Empire had either jammed all communications at their borders, or perhaps they had shut down all the communications relays at their borders. What was even more interesting was the disappearance of the border patrols.
     Ten years ago the Galactic Imperium sent several scouting ships into the Vesdin Empire, searching for a lost frieghter with a precious cargo. Instead of finding the small freighter, they found the Vesdin Empire had died within itself and awaited conquering. The Galactic Imperium then returned with a military force to lay claim to the Vesdin Empire. Spies within the Galactic Imperium alerted their superiors and, soon after, other nations started laying their own claims within the space left by the Vesdin Empire.
