Zorenīs Datalog:
First day of the Rising Izrak
Planet Duma'rin, Telcon System, Korank Sector - Vesdin Empire Day 1:
The people who hired us finally gave us a mission, which was logically what we had been hired for.
We had to explore one of the planets that belonged to the empire and report back. Here was my chance to learn something about Lewis besides old spacefarerīs tales, after all the empire made contact with them , or so it is said.
I landed the ship in the planet and the group set to explore. As our leader had important things to do in the ship, the scouting party was formed by Malthias (scientist) and a mercenary, with me as a backup. Logic dictated that we should elect a field leader and as this was not a combat oriented mission Malthias was chosen for that role.
We set out for some ruins near what we thought used to be a control tower and discovered an elevator going into the bowels of the planet. After some false starts we managed to get it open and working. As we went down we could see that the base was apparently abandoned during an attack by an unknown force. The only sign of life, or lack of thereof, was a skeleton that had some sort of computer in his skull. As I understand next to nothing about computers it was only logical that Malthias kept it.
Then my curse struck and I started to see all red. My recollections are not clear but I think I might have threatened him, so I will logically apologize later. My vague recollections include a chair and a drawer but little else. I will complete this log tomorrow.

Addendum:
I managed to contain my anger and with Tesar and Malthias and continue with our exploration of the complex. The rooms were completely uninteresting to me, except for the one that had armor and devices. On a strange note the armor was old, about 30 years out of date, but the empire fell ten years ago or so we believe.
It was during the exploration that we were informed by Alemara, our field commander, that a group of people were surrounding the ships. I was temporaly put in command, as this appeared to be a military operation, but logic indicated that we should talk with them, after all they appeared not to be hostile.
Their leader, a woman named Alara, could not (or would not) tell us about the forces that bombarded her planet. Malthias was struck with compassion during this time, desiring to help the people rebuild or at least escape, which was higly illogical. We should have taken their leader and interrogated her, after all she was the one that, most likely, had information.
Our discussion between logic and ethics was cut short by a message from Alemara telling us that we could evacuate the people. So we did, but they have to surrender their weapons first. Now we are returning to our base.
The only thing that bothers me is that their enemy never attemped to conquer the planet. A bombardment without a ground attack is illogical, so I wonder what they were after.
