Dwarves - The Deywar | |
Dwarves are of the earth and are a short, stocky race with skin tones ranging from an earthy red to a stone grey. Dwarves come in a variety of hair and eye colors, regardless of origin. Both male and females have beards, although some females shave. | |
Vildwar: The Vildwar, also known as hill dwarves have a tendency to mine and populate hillsides. Because their cities and towns are more easily accessible by other races, their dealings with these races have been greater than their mountain cousins. Vildwar have a tendency to adventure more than their mountain cousins partially because of their somewhat adventurous spirit and because they are not as rigid in their structure. Devwar: The Devwar, also known as mountain dwarves typically mine and populate within the mountains across the land. Considering the dangerous mountain trails, devwar have few dealings with the other races. Few devwar are found adventuring and most of those have been forced out of their mountain citadels. One point that has been made is that devwar are typically as rigid as the mountains they live in. Classes: Fighter, Cleric, Thief, Fighter/Cleric, Fighter/Thief. Elves - The Illaylien | |
Seemingly frivolous and aloof, elves tend to be almost unfathomable. Elves, with their almost immortal life spans, tend to spend much time contemplating life and tend to anger others with shorter life spans who want or need immediate action. | |
Illiadan: Illiadan, also known as high elves, are fair skinned with hair color varying from light brown to an almost beached-blonde or blonde-white. Their eyes are typically a hazel color. Illiadan are a proud, arrogant, and stoic people and tend to be the most aloof from the other races. Classes: cleric, fighter, mage, specialist mage, thief, ranger, fighter/mage, fighter/thief, fighter/cleric, fighter/mage/thief, cleric/mage, or mage/thief. Languages: Illia & either Orc or Gnoll. Illyar: Illyar, also known as grey elves, are slightly shorter and darker than the illiadan, with eyes various shades of blue or brown and hair typically ranging from light brown to blonde and occasionally black. Illyar tend to be more sociable and tolerant than the illiadan, and also tend to make up the majority of adventuring elves. Illvar: Illvar, also known as wood elves or wild elves, are a more muscular elf with skin tones ranging from a light tan to a dark bronze. Their eyes are green, brown, or hazel and their hair tends to be dark, ranging from light brown to black, with an occasional blonde or copper color. Illvar tend to be the least organized as they work to achieve harmony with nature for a full and happy life. The illvar are the most reclusive and distrusting of non-elves. Classes: cleric, druid, fighter, mage, specialist mage, thief, ranger, fighter/mage, fighter/thief, fighter/cleric (or druid), ranger/cleric (or druid), or mage/thief. Gnomes - The Grilhilorst | |
Gnomes are a small, friendly race of demi-humans common throughout the land. They are noticeably smaller and less stocky than dwarves, of whom they are thought to be distant relatives of (though only gnomish males have beards). Most gnomes have dark tan or brown skin and white hair. The designation of hill and forest gnome are fairly artificial and more a matter of taste, much like those humans who like the sea and those who prefer the high country. The lineage of many gnomes include both hill and forest gnomes. Classes: fighter, thief, cleric, illusionist, fighter/cleric, fighter/thief, fighter/illusionist, cleric/thief, cleric/illusionist, illusionist/thief. Languages: Grilhil & Common. Half-elves resembles their elven parent, but males have the non-elven ability to grow facial hair. They are slightly taller and somewhat stockier than most elves, but a bit thinner than most humans. Classes: cleric, druid, fighter, ranger, mage, specialist wizard, thief, bard, cleric (or druid)/fighter, cleric (or druid)/fighter/mage, cleric (or druid)/ranger, cleric (or druid)/mage, fighter/mage, fighter/thief, fighter/mage/thief, and mage/thief. Languages: Depends on how they were raised. If raised in an elven community then use their languages, if raised in a human community then use those languages. If raised by both mother & father, there might be a mixture of languages available. |

Halflings are the smallest of the demi-human races, and to observe their communities outside cities, the most numerous (and growing). They tend to resemble small street urchins, wise beyond their years. | |

The many humans of the land have intermixed over the centuries; there are less pure racial groups found across the lands now. On the fringes, however, there are still some lands where the inhabitants are almost unchanged from the racial stock of their millennium-old ancestors. Those of mixed blood could possibly have access to all the languages of their ancestory or more likely that of the cultural area they grew up in. | |
Elu: The Elu inhabit the forests and highlands and are believed to originate from the great isles of legend. Elu are sometimes difficult to differentiate from other races, with skin ranging from white to dark tan, hair varying in color from honey- or strawberry-blonde to black (typically varied by regional tribes), and eyes of every common color, though most often blue, brown, or hazel. Elu are more easily recognied by their choice of clothing. Favoring plaids and checks, sometimes with unusual variations such as diamond patterns. Elu Men tend to wear kilts or close-fitting trousers and short tunics depending on the regional tribe.

Jilari: Jilari are recognizable by their bronze complexions and wavy or curly dark hair. Their skin tones range from a lighter coppery color to a deep brown. Jilari eyes are most commonly dark brown or black with brown or amber appearing less frequently.

Oradi: Oradi are tall and lanky, with aquiline features and dark eyes. Their complexions range from a light coffee to a dark brown color. Unlike some cultures, the Oradi have no fear of magic. The study of magic is considered the noblest of callings, and the Oradi universities devoted to magic are the finest. Oradi commoners are traders and merchants, but an individual's decorum, hospitality, and conduct are far more important than gross wealth. Vikir: The Vikir seem to people the barbaric tribes from the cold northlands. Those that venture southward tend to be tall, broad-shouldered people with eyes ranging from blue and violet to deep blue and the occasional grey. Their wavy, kinky, or straight hair ranges in color from strawberry blondes, yellows, and platinums. Men and women commonly wear their hair in long braids and men are rarely seen without a thick beard or moustache. (Vikir are like the Norsemen of earth and some have a tendancy to go a-viking.
