The party had traveled for 2 days away from the woods heading south along the river when they noticed another group that was also traveling southward. The party sneaked up to the group and discovered that it was a band of orcs. The party attacked the orcs and killed all but one of them, which they tied up. |
| Session 2 (10/3/98?) |

The party looted the orcs, taking arrows & a battle axe, and Cierra took note of the symbol painted on the shield of one of the orcs. Another 3 days south the party entered the Village of Kimpus that had a pallisade wall. There they met Richard Rahl, a priest of Lovanc, and added him to their number. Malthias got drunk while The rest of the party made an appointment to see the lord of the village the next morning. Sithihas found out from a village guard that the troops that had patrolled the countryside had been taken to a city called Volkrad to the south to put down an uprising caused by a fire. In the morning they visited the lord & they talked about the goblinoids in the area. He asked the party about the symbol on their shield and Cierra told him it was a red skull with red arrows pointing at the eyes. He informed them that it was the Blood Skull Clan that they were dealing with & that the Blood Skulls sometimes banded together with other goblinoid clans to raid various villages & towns. |

The party finishes speaking with the lord of the village who gave them some more information on a city to the south named Volkrad that had burned down due to some mage's experiment gone bad. The party leaves the orc they had captured in the lord's cell to be interrogated or killed. They purchase a wagon and 2 horses from the stables then leave the village. 2 days out from the village of Kimpus the party was attacked at night by a band of 16 orcs. Combat started with 8 orcs shooting arrows into camp & 4 orcs charging in for hand-to-hand combat. Cierra took off into the woods and the number of archers slowly dwindled. After everyone still in camp took care of the first 4 orcs in hand-to-hand another 4 more heavily armored entered camp to deal with the party. |

The 4 more heavily armored orcs (in chainmail) entered camp to deal with the party. Meanwhile, Mal & Rahl headed off into the woods to see how Cierra had been doing. They spotted 3 figures engaged in melee, so they headed off to the last 3 archers & killed 1 of them. Eric was injured badly by one of the orcs in chainmail & fell unconscious. The 1 figure surviving the melee Mal & Rahl had seen yelled something gutteral & headed off towards the last 2 archers. and jumped between Rahl, Mal, & the orc archers, killing the orc archer Rahl had been fighting & injuring Rahl slightly. Rahl turned to attack the last archer while calling out for Cierra & Mal attacked the 1 figure that had survived the other melee, only to find it was Cierra. Cierra barked something at the last orc archer in a gutteral language and the orc archer quickly turned tail & ran off further into the darkness. |

After a day of traveling the party notices what would appear to be either some mountains or hills to the south. Another 2 days of travel (1 day through some woods, but there was a beaten path) they reached Griffondale, a good sized town of about 1000 people. The party asked how much farther til Jamesport and one of the peasants told them that the way Squart talks it'd take 3 weeks. They found out that Squart was a merchant and had sold a contraption to Justin, the weaponsmith.
